Glad your floorpan's minty, least it gives you the oppo to dye the carpet; I always thought it was the one thing that let your car down.
RetroBeemer wrote:Of course now that the carpet is out its lovely warm sunshine which means I am going to have to drive about with no interior for a while. So, the sensible thing is to use the opportunity to stick a roll cage and a pair of Corbeaus in it.
EFT

Mark, you can still give the battery back. They go of the serial number. I didn't have the receipt, but Euro Car Parts where I bought my BOSCH silver swapped me a new replacement no questions asked. Doesn't help if you already bought one but good to have as a spare. Cars looking nice, but the TWR is still my favourite :)

Well I took advantage of the leak and dyed my carpet ( and my hands, trousers and converse ) black today. I managed to get it all covered pretty evenly and I think it's going to look way better than it did when it was beige.

I'm just waiting for it to dry now. I'm going to give the leather Recaros a bit of a clean while I'm at it and paint the subframes etc. If I can sort the rear seat out the interior will finally be finished! It's only taken me 18 months.

Black covers all the stains too. It even covers the vinyl bits if you give it a couple of coats with half hour between them. It cost about £22 delivered next day, plus £3 for a small bucket and masonry brush to apply it.

Well I managed to get everything back in the car and I must say, it looks way better than before. The whole interior is just a much nicer place to be and hopefully, the water leaks are no more.

I still have to re-fit my speakers etc, but I was shattered after doing this little lot. Sadly working on cars really takes it out of me since my accident. I know this sort of job is nothing compared to what a lot of you do to maintain your cars but I like to try and keep my hand in whenever I can.

Cool! Looks great Mark.
Looking to do the same thing to my carpet in the near future. Any tips? Dit you use a brush or a roller or something else?
And where did you buy your dye?
