It was just painted properly in the first place and a good quality paint used. I do wash it weekly though and use a decent wax every 3 months or so. It was actually painted 3 years ago now though, except the front end which is more recent.

Cheers for that. I just can't justify another set of rims right now tho. I'm having enough trouble not investing in an e23!

Swapped steering wheels in an effort to stem my addiction instead.

I couldn't resist buying a rust free E24  I'll start my own thread for that one.

I went to the MPH show at Earls Court today and watched Top Gear live.

What a load of old shit!

I should have saved the dough and put it towards a 7 series.

Last time I went was 2007; after that I really went off Top Gear in general. My money's better spent down the road at the the annual Erotica show in Olympia...

While I think of it, that new 3 spoke momo wheel is bloody lovely to use. I don't know if its because the leather isn't 30 years old? It's just a pity it looks a bit modern'ish.

I'm going with polished lips, black centres and orange where the Ronal lettering is. I met a guy at MPH yesterday, who owns a wheel refurb' company and it turns out he lives a few streets away from me. He's going to do the Ronals and the Alpinas on the TWR if his work turns out to be a good standard. He does it all in the back of a Mercedes van outside your house. Just needs a socket to plug it into.
