I love those beige interiors, the are quite rare here in Europe! But... is that an E30 rear seat?

That's a good question, I honestly don't know. That's the way I purchased the car.

Anyone in the US know?

I'm 99% sure it's E30 even though I've never seen leatherette in an E30 but that could be an early E30 thing.

BTW can you make a better pic of the parking brake cover? That one's also new to me, sofar I've only seen the harmonica-like rubber boot!

These are definitely e30 seats.

Those leatherette upholstery's in e30 where on special request.
I've looked it up in a "coulors and upholstery" manual of '84 that I have and you could have those in 5 colors

0156 perlbeige (thats your color)
0155 nutria (dark brown)
0166 black (black)
0167 pacific (blue)
0168 piniengreen (green)

If I remember correct you could order those up to '86 so they become
very rare :!: Take care of them so as for you car.

The rear seats match the front seats quite well. Is it possible that this was an option in the USA for 1982?

Check out this USA auction for another '82 320i....the seats look the same.

Yeah they look the same but the cut-outs for the seat belts and the not-quite-100% fit make is genuine E30 stuff!

BTW the handbrake cover thing looks familiar now... some kind of aftermarket thing... seen it before (was also available on the Golf I for example I believe)... can't remember the brand... something like Kamei?

That's definitely strange. I wonder if the previous owner put those seats in the car because of damage to the stock seats. They look fine nonetheless.

Kamei is a major aftermarket supplier for VW/Audi. I'll have to check to see if I can get a new one, because this one is showing some wear.

Thanks!

I just noticed, this is surposed to be the same colour as my E30 (same code), when mixing the paints it comes out a dark colour though, real dark, so i wonder what the deal is. I had problems trying to match the original paint you see :(

Here is the colour of my E30

Have you got any other body pics of your E21? want to compare colours.

Cool. I have a saphirblau E30.. it had blue vinyl interior.. I do find your color combination unique.
Oh, and yeah.. I tried an E30 backseat in my E21 and it fit JUST like that. Jeroen was on the ball there.. most definitely E30.

I purchased this car from dtech back in March of ’05. The interior was from an E30. I replaced the interior with the correct E21 stuff. I put a lot of work into the car, including Zender fiberglass replica bumper covers. The car looked sharp! Anyway too many BMWs so I sold it to another enthusiast.

The car is still running and currently in use by the new owner
