an offset of 13 is perfect. anything great (e.g. 23) could be tackled with spacers, so offset et23 would require 10mm spacers, give or take. if not, the wheel will hit the track rod end. go the other way, it may hit the arch if too big.

oh, and they need 4 holes

ET or offset depends on the width of the wheel. Some examples of max offset values:

5J : ET 29mm
5.5J : ET 18mm
6-7J : ET 13mm

15 inch is as big as you want to go.Any more and you'll regret it.
And for Gods sake, don't go all modern on us!

Universal rims are pretty poor imo. I think they look a bit modern too but taste is a personal thing.

You really can't go wrong with a BBS style x spoke or classic Alpina. They both compliment the E21.Have a trawl through the owners gallery. You won't be seen as "copying"if you choose the same as someone else.6 or 7 by 15 is the best combination,in my humble opinion.Oh,don't forget to make sure you have the right length wheel bolts.

Depends on the style / brand of wheel really. They're easily obtained and not expensive really anyway.

You probably haven't, but don't forget the hub diameter (57.1 mm).

Some of the "universal fit" wheel have larger hub bores and you then have to use bub spacers. I think they are dangerous and those universal fit wheels are rarely good quality.
