Hello
Heres the story so far
3 years have very nearly passed since i landed home (as a 17 year old idiot) with an opal green 1982 320/6. I had £1000 in my pocket it was burning a hole and man i really wanted a cool car I was after an e30 325i and had missed a crackin fiesta rs turbo then my old man told me about the e21 323i, I had never even heard of one at the time, he explained to me that his first car was an e21 316 although he made it sound more like a new m3. I googled "e21 323i" and immediately realised that is the motor for me. That same week a 1982 320/6 came up in the local autotrader, thinking it was more or less the same as a 323i ihad to own her.

mistake no.1
I went myself to look at her knowing everything about cars (not really having a clue)
mistake no. 2
going when it was begining to get dark and the car was dirty

ithought she was mint handed over the cash and drive her home (good fun)
I soon discovered in a tescos car park she was a 'one wheeler' then at home over the next couple of weeks we learned that she was clean rotten, full of bird shit welding isopon, loads of owners, everyone of which probably give her a coat of paint and the engine, was practically scrap. but the carb on them things is class when you take out the air filter.

there was nothing else for it "restoration" although i had never did it before i would soon learn.

so far
I have bought a 323i for parts, Disc brake back axle vented front calipers engine black interior etc
13"x7" bbs style compomotive cnx wheels will be black with polished lips
BBS front spoiler
foha rear spoiler
lowering springs although would like to fall in with coilovers
clear corners
spent months upon months at the metal work. the first patch i put in got cut out again and re-done when i had done all the others as my skills had improved
I will remove the back panel between the lights

think i can get my hands on the following:
recaro seats
dogleg box
2.7 conversion

quaiffe atb and weber 40 DCOE in the pipeline although im nowhere near that stage

i have completed all the welding shot blasted it underneath, etch primed, seam sealed, stone chipped and painted i am now ready to go at the rest of the car to get it straightened out and painted, Verona Red (its an earlier 02 colour)

I will do everything myself thats why it is taking so long except painting the exterior i will leave this to a professional.

unfortunately i have lost the photos i took when I first got her however her are a few as i have been working

Good work there, I particularly like the nice chunky steel replacing the factory "jacking point" - you can actually stick a jack under yours!
