Chelsea Auto Legends 2010 pt.1

Chelsea Auto Legends is without doubt one of the most eye-popping shows I've been to in the last couple of years or so. The quality of cars on show was absolutely staggering, so wanted to do them all justice for all the peeps that didn't get a chance to go.
This was just on the way to the tube station in the morning. In my favourite colour and wheels too. A good omen.
Walking from Sloane Sq. tube. Not even in the grounds yet.
Outside the entrance. All this is free so far.
Two 250GT SWBs before I've reached the entrance.
Now I'm in.

Real. The third C-Type built, raced since by famed Jaguar drivers Dick Protheroe and John Young.
BMW Art Car by Dexter Brown:
The Marc Duez/Belga Motorsport 6R4. IIRC, he usually appeared on tarmac events in Europe, but did do the '86 RAC.
Antonio Zanini - Josep Autet RS200.
Small cameras can get in tight spaces...
Peugeot 405 Turbo 16 GR, based on the 205 T16. Only two examples were made, one raced hill climbs (including Pikes Peak) and the other competed in the Paris-Dakar rally. Today, one is in the official Peugeot museum, and this is the other one.
Bjorn Waldegard historic rally 914.
The guy that owns this Lancia Aprilia has this in a secret bunker near me with a lot of other classics; discretion prohibits me say where and what cars. Nice car, needs to lose the Beetle rear lights though.
More rally weapons; Russell Brookes Opel Manta 400, Markku Alen Lancia 037 Safari spec.
Audi Sport Quattro S1, Michele Mouton's Pikes Peak car.

1964 Shelby Daytona CSX 'recreation'.
Enough Talbot 105 Alpines for you? They all raced, one of them 3rd overall at '32 Le Mans.
HWM 'Stovebolt Special'.
1949 Gordini (not Renault) 23S/T15S; raced at le Mans '50 to '52, lead in that year for over 8 hrs before retiring.
1962 Ferrari 268SP 3rd overall Le Mans in the same year.
This GT40 was 11th overall at '66 Le Mans driven by Innes Ireland & Jochen Rindt.
1972 Ferrari 3654GTB4, 6th overall and 3rd in class that year, driven by amongst others Vic Elford (as in turbo fame). Recorded at 193mph through the speed trap that year. I saw this at the lights outside after the show closed. LOUD.
1973 Lola T292.
1990 Spice SE90, 1st in class, '91 Le Mans.
1957 Maserati 300S.
1966 275GTB/C; 1st in Grand Tourisme class, '67 Le Mans.
1931 MG C-type Montlehery, competed '31 Le Mans.
2010 Lola B10/60 LMP1, 6th overall at this year's Le Mans.
1979 Ferrari BB512LM, fastest Ferrari at that race (204mph).
1965 works MGB, 11th overall at that years Le Mans, one place behind the Graham Hill/Jackie Stewart Rover-BRM.
1968 GT40, sister car to the '68 Le Mans winner.
1965 Ferrari 250LM, 2nd overall at '65 Le Mans.
1935 Aston Martin Ulster, 8th overall & 4th in class, '35 Le Mans.
And '009' Aston LMP1, 4th overall.
You just can't have a Le Mans display without a D-type; Winner in '55.
1972 365GTB/4 1st in class & 5th overall in '72. Incidentally the 365 GTB/4 was nicknamed 'Daytona' after the 1-2-3 at the '67 Daytona 24hrs.
1995 McLaren F1 GTR, 4th overall in the same year.
1988 Jaguar XJR9, overall winner that year. If I could liquidise that car and drink it, I damn well would.
