Anybody know this car?

Hello everybody, I've been reading this forum for a while now, but have only just decided to join up. My main reason for this is that I would like to track down my dad's old car, he bought the car in 1990 from the first owner who was a family friend and used it as his daily car until around 2004 when a suspected dropped valve forced it off the road. The car was parked until my dad had the time to repair it, but as with these things the car sat for 4 years without any work being done, and eventually he decided to sell it. It was sold to an Emma Barrow in Leeds, who promptly sold it on again. This was the last we heard of the car, but the DVLA claims it is still liable. It was a 1982 henna red 316, with 5 speed box, registration
VFV3Y
I would like to know what it has been up to since then if possible, and thought this would be the best place to ask! Thanks in advance, Adam

Hi Griff, welcome to the forum.
Looking at the reg number it would have been supplied by a dealer in the Blackpool/Preston area so you must be a fellow Northerner at a guess. Sadly I have never spotted another E21 for a long long time!
My M&D had an E21 in Henna reg number WHG418Y but according to dvla its been dead a while.
A few years ago I tried tracking down my first ever hot hatch from back in 1994, it was a Renault Clio 16V which back in the day I loved more than anything. I posted on forums but to no avail, then out of the blue I found someone breaking an identical car to the one I once had, it turned out from the pictures that it was my once loved Valver and I was straight in there with a phone call. Sadly and I mean sadly the bstd that had it just weighed it in and the car had gone for ever. Needless to say I was well pished!
RIP Valver

Yep, you're correct, it still had the dealer sticker on the back too! I still live in the Bury area myself, and I do very occasionally see e21s knocking about, there is a house I know of which always has a few e21s on the driveway, including a couple of Alpina models, I always have a look to see if 'my' car has turned up there every time I go past...you can always hope haha

I know that house too. Kept asking the guy if he'll sell the Alpina, but he'd rather let it rot outside - oh well!

I will have a guess at the supplier being Derek Woodman..........
I have recently returned from a holiday in Germany and considering I drove (not the E21) I didnt see a single E21!! and I was on the look out!
Its promising that its still on the road so its only a matter of time until it turns up...good luck.

Would that be the house on Middleton road by any chance? I don't drive past that often as I usually go down a rat run to work, but it has interesting cars on the drive. I only seem to go past at 3AM so probably wouldn't appreciate me knocking on the door!
