Brighton Speed Trials 2010 pt.1

I was going to do part 2 of Chelsea Auto Legends (still to come), but the Brighton Speed trials came up.
Embarrassment of riches.
I know this isn't a bike forum, but you can't not show a couple of them, the quality of some was fantastic. (got more pics if you want to PM me).
Onto the cars.
Scimitar packed a Cossie V6 punch:
I think I've seen nearly all of the AC 428s produced. This one apparantly had a detuned 8.3 litre NASCAR lump, sounded like it:

Rally replica Datsun 240Z. Love those air boxes:
While this Z had a 2.8:
Another ex BL rally TR7 V8 with a 4.6 engine, love the induction setup:
Turbo'd V6 Cossie XR4i
2.3 Lima power. On slicks. In the wet...
Zetec-powered Alpine. I bet you could tune one to be as quick as a standard Tiger...

FIAT 508 Balilla:
Type 35 Grand Prix car. Was nice too see all of the pre-war cars getting ragged.
Cooper MKVIII & Monaco-JAP; red car is Cooper-JAP. The post-war GP cars are still a bit nippy.
2-litre turbo Rover power in this B:
Old & New. Naturally the SLS was the fastest of the two, if a little too quiet.
Cadillac V8-powered Allard J2, ex-Sydney Allard no less.
Another Allard‘The Old Fella’ drag car; 800bhp BBC.
Fastest car of the day. Xtrac Gould Puma; turbo'd, 4wd, sequential 'box, 11 sec qtr-mile in the wet, did 9.95 & 9.63 the previous two years.
From the fastest to the slowest; 1899 Panhard et Levassor, ¼ mile in 48 seconds with a terminal speed of 24mph
It rained on and off all day; even the driver of this GT-R got his slide on down the 1/4 mile.
