Baur trims - gloss or matt?

My Baur is edging towards being done
My Wife is going away on business for a week leaving me with two kids, so all I can do is bring some bits home and clean/paint etc in the evenings. The door pillar trims are in need of refurb and easily portable, but should they be painted with a gloss or matt finish? I need to get the right rattle can first time - going to paint shops with two small children isn't fun!
