Is it a false economy to buy a second hand but good condition boot seal - should I just buy a new one from BMW?

And how about a 3rd solution? : Try a new (not second hand) one but non BMW genuine, there exist quite a lot I think, and I think the quality is the same

I had thought about after market copies but the only ones I can find are in USA and Australia....

I thought about that after the writing the title of the thread, but chose to leave it in an attempt at cheap humour!

I used a stop gap of bathroom sealent on mine...... my car i mean

I'm going to be rebuilding the bottom of the rear screen / boot area where it's rusted and thought it would be good to use new seals when putting things back together - I've already got a new rear screen seal sorted.
