Strange white marks on paint work

Morning,

Since parking my car outdoors, a strange white patch has developed on the drivers door. The deposits have now completely covered that rectangular space and haven't appeared anywhere else (bar a tiny patch on the front wing).

Any thoughts on what it could be? Mineral deposits from rain maybe?

Don't want to attack it with anything too harsh!
Cheers,
Olly

try removing it with a clay bar. it may be called something else on your side. that should do the trick

washing with a mild car shampoo would be my first choice, then clay bar (the bilt hamber one or the one from gtechniq - both you can buy online and are better than the megs or autoglym ones halfords stock)

failing a clay bar, i'd then look at something a little more aggressive like an all purpose cleaner like tardis or maybe bilt hamber surfex HD.

i'm not into car detailing

very odd marks to just appear though. any other cars near yours suffered the same fate? has yours had a recent respray?

Strange to have a spot like that... seems like there was a sticker before, parhaps some glue residue, think I'd try a mild cleaner.

Cheers all. Will try some of the suggested milder cleaners; I'm conscious that the paint might not be a thick / hard wearing as modern incarnations.

Not spotted that on any other local vehicles, I wonder too whether it had a sticker on it. Perhaps one of my Godfather's sons took it for a bit of rallying back in the day!

i think a car enthusiast must of walked by, seen your car and jizzed all over it.

nothing gets spunk of paintwork except dirty hookers who will lick it off
