I'm after the bolt and washers that hold the alternator in place, its the one fixated on the engine block I think? :? Its not the adjustable bolt but the one holding it in place god knows how I've managed to lose it?

The bolt is detailed in the haynes manual as pivot bolt and washer?

I don't have a clue where I'd get one from? Any help much appreciated!

try the local hardware store. the bolt bins there are usually full of stuff that wll work on cars. just make sure its grade 8 and zinc plated.

You've got a better chance of getting the correct one too.

Always worth taking them from Bimmers in your local scrappy whenever you're visiting. Having 3 or 4 spare is always nice. Too late this time I know, but remember in future you're looking for the bolt for a particular type of alternator, not a particular type of car.
