m10 oil flow direction into the filter

am i right in thinking that when the oil flows from the engine into the oil filter it travels down the middle of the filter and comes out back to the block on the outside of the filter so all the crap is effectivly contained in the middle of the filter element
Just got my sandwhich plate and im trying to work out if the oil is going to be cooled before or after my turbo take off

just another little question aswell. is there any difference between oil filters? is it better to get fram? halfords special? etc or are there no benifits at all

No doubt someone will tell you a filter is a filter but the fact is that some cheaper ones have no non-return valve and allow the filter to empty when the engine isn't running. Obviously, it will re-fill once the engine fires but the constant starting with an oil starved filter isn't good.

I second what RetroB said. I've got a cheap one in mine atm and the oil takes 5 or 6 seconds to get upto pressure when starting.. Kills me a little inside each time to start like that. Need to get an OEM one asap.
