A question for the trackday boys, Gaz coilovers or Billiy B6/8's and Eibach springs???
And also why??
What does on offer over the other in terms of handling??

Thanks.

It's cost V adjustabilty

mild upgraded car for road use with the odd track day for fun Billies and the W&N progrssive springs.

If you use the car track days and are going to do more than just mod the engine, then gaz hieght and damping adjustable

height adjustable lets you corner wieght the car, springs are cheap to change if you lighten the car, swap engies etc so you can alter the spring rate. A stripped e21 become very tail light and the arse will lift up on any rear shock coilovers let you drop it back.

Again as you do more track days you tend to stiffen up the suspension as you get faster.

But for a fast road car the proggressive type springs I think are better than hieght only adjustabel coilovers

I love the Gaz coilovers but if I didn't want the added adjustability I would go for the Bilsteins.

I'm asking, because i have a set of front and rear billy b8's, and was either looking to sell and get gaz's for the E21, or a set of springs, I was under the impression that mated with Eibach springs, this would offer a good set up for Road use, and maybe the odd trackday

Are there still the Eibachs available? (AFAIK they have stopped production for E21...)And what are the W&N progressive springs? Are they any good? I am not very happy with my Apex, and I am looking what would be a good choice

I'd go for Gaz just so you can play with spring rates if ever you want to change stuff. Their aftersales is good too.

Just ordered Gaz golds myself. Was gonna make some home brew coilies but heard all positives about gaz stuff and figured engine swap would keep me busy enuf.

In case one does not do track days so no big need of ride height control, but would be ready to pay something more for sportier (=stiffer??) ride and improved roadholding and maybe some decreased bodyroll, can anyone tell me if GAZ is worth the extra money comparing to BILSTEIN+some springs?
If not, then the next question would be: BILSTEIN and WHAT springs? (APEX?, H&R? W&N? other?)

How much are Gaz these days? I used to think they were expensive, but when you add up the cost of new sport shocks for these cars, coilover conversion kits and springs I think they're pretty good value.

I've DIY'd my stuff, shortened front struts with E30 bilstein B6s and a 2.25" coilover conversion. Rear are custom built rear coilovers.

I got a quote of £600, so i think i'll be keeping the billies and buy some H&R springs

I think they're pretty good value too. Easy to maintain and after sales service is first class not to mention vast improvement in handling!

Tell you what Mark, if you can get them for £450, i'll have them, and sell the Billies, i've already had interest in those.
Let me know. :D 8)
