Hey all,
How much difference in rpm and torque (pull) are we talking about when discussing the dogleg vs eco. Considering keeping the 3.45 diff on my 323i.
This is for the future when i want to upgrade my 4speed. The dogleg sounds like a lot of fun but i want to consider the options.

I think aprox 750rpm in 5th gear.

I was always told 5th gear in the sport box is the same rpm as 4th gear in the eco 5 speed box.

i see, that is quite a difference, only thing im thinking about now is if the extra pull is worth the extra rpm. since the m20 doubles its sound production around 3000 rpm. But I think my favor would still go out to a dogleg. Thanks for the info, seeing the last gear in 4box and 5box dogleg arent any difference (1.000) there wont be any difference.

might be able to get my hands on a dog box for my motor do you know if you gain a long 1st gear or a long 5th.

I wouldn't bother unless you're using it on a track or you just want the kudos & bragging rights? An overdriven box is way nicer day to day.

I dont really drive it day to day, more for recreation. But what are the prices currently for a dogleg? I suppose a overdrive would be fine too for couple a times track per year and long distances together if you tune the engine to faster revving (lightened flywheel?) or/with a higher rev head (schrick valves with springs?) Just some ideas...
