Camshaft / oil spray bar

I'm swapping the camshaft in my car for a Schrick one but is there any way of improving on the oil feed via the spray bar? Is it better to just fit a new one and leave well alone?

I've noticed my car sounding a bit 'cammy' lately but I'm unsure if there is anything more than usual engine noise? Does anyone else have the same sort of sounds?

I am having new guides, valve stem oil seals etc, but am I right in thinking there are no real gains to be made from flowing an m20 731 head?

The trouble is normally too much oil to the head in a tuned engine, if the stock spray bar does not work then you have a problem else where

So better to just fit a new standard bar when the head is rebuilt then Jason? What should valve clearnces be set too?

isnt it .25mm cold, both exhaust and inlet?
if its sounding tappety it might just need them setting.

Thanks. I had a cO check done and they seemed to think that they might be a bit tight? Would that cause the noise too?

shouldnt do, but it will cause the slipper pads on the rocker and cam to eat each other.

usually if theyre too tight you'll be loosing a bit of compression if the valves being held off its seat slightly.
