Ex Khumo race car

As I think I mentioned in another thread, after a bit of inspiration from the liked of Mr Murran, Mr Jason, Mr Jim & Mr Ben I decided to have a go at some e21 motorsport. In an ideal world I would have liked to build up a race car from scratch but as I have no workshop and minimal mechanical knowhow, it made sense to go for a ready built car instead. It would appear that race prepped e21's are a bit thin on the ground though but then I remembered the ex Khumo car that was advertised this time last year. Luckily I still had the vendors number and he had the number of the guy who bought it from him. I rang and was told that they had plans to enter the ''Classics of the Future'' series this year and were even building a second car with e30 suspension and an e36 M3 engine & box. A few days later they rang to say that rather than split their budget between 2 cars they were going to share the new car instead. This meant that the Khumo car was now available. Between my meagre savings and the bank I managed to stump up enough cash. If Barclays ask though, it's a new bathroom.
So, tomorrow afternoon, I should see this arrive on the back of a transporter.

It's had a few bits done.
LSD,
Racing dog leg gearbox,
Leda coil overs,
2.7 with triple 45's (Webers),
shrick cam,
Lightened fly wheel,
210 brake horse power plus,
New cobra seats and harnesses,
New exhaust (ashley competition),
OMP Roll cage,
Newly refurbed BBS 15" alloys,
Toyo R888's,
New facet pump,
Strut Braces
I've got a few jobs to do, such as oil catch tank, door mirrors and carbonfibre door cards and then I plan to try and MOT it. I've also joined the Sevenoaks Motor Club and got my licence from the MSA in order to be able to enter some sprints & hillclimb events. I'm under no illusions and know my driving skills are at best mediocre but this is about having fun. It'll also be good to see another e21 out there! If all goes to plan, my first event will be in early April at North Weald and I have submitted an entry for Crystal Palace. I think the Palace event gets over subscribed though so I will have to keep fingers crossed on that one.
