twin weber 45 on stock engine

would twin 45's be okay on a stock engine? i have found a kit brand new with manifold and linkage etc. or would 40's be better. thanks

Way too big for a stock M10. You'll lose any kind of power below 3000 rpm.

Even twin 40s is pretty big. Unless you're planning on future upgrades like a big cam, you'd be wasting your money. Something like a weber 32/36 should do the job admirably.

Mine is a 1.8L is this ok?, I will just go slow for now untill, l plan for this, 2L upgrade in time,

yeah i plan on a lumpier cam in future, i just want it to run with the 40's till i can afford other stuff. sounds good. had the money transferred into paypal to buy them online but paypal limited my account! some australian anti money laundering laws. bastards. haha

I had a set of 48 mm quad throat injection manifolds on a stock m10 in the e12 and it was an absolute nightmare unless you revved it over 4000. I know that's a lot bigger than 40's or even 45's, but it's the same in theory.
The twin 40's have 3 times more area then a standard e21 needs and the 45's have almost 4 times the area!
