North Weald Sprint

On Sunday the 3rd April I am entering my first Sprint event at North Weald Airfield in Essex, Nr Waltham Abbey. I was wondering if anyone fancied giving me a hand with the car in return for copious amounts of coffee, sandwiches & Mars bars? Hopefully, thanks to the thorough preparation, there won't actually be anything to do once the cars off the trailer but you never know. I might find something to stack it into other than cones! Either way, it's a days grass roots motorsport in an e21!

So, anyone up for coming along? :thumbsup

Excellent. I just got an e-mail confirming my entry and the car is nearly ready. I've even booked the trailer and a transit van for the day.

I'd be up for it if it wasn't for it being mothers day. Sounds a bit soft i know but i don't see her often enough as it is so can't not see her.

Car is nearly ready although I may leave the rear wing for now as I don't want to rush it. Just the timing strut, numbers, steering wheel and a spanner check to do.

I know it's only a sprint event but I'm still really looking forward to it all the same. I've wanted to actually compete in something for years so it's great to finally have the chance. I'm only able to afford to keep the race car for a few months so it's a case of making the most of it while I can.

Location details are below for anyone who can make it and I have 1 spare vehicle entry pass. If there is more than one car you might be better off meeting down the road and coming in a single vehicle.

The venue is North Weald Airfield, Harlow, Essex, map reference 167/490038. The entrance is via the
main gate in Merlin Way via the roundabout on the A414 approx. 1 mile east of J7 on the M11.

No worries mate. I'm not entirely sure how spectator friendly it is there anyway? Sign on at 7.30 - 8 so won't start for an hour or 2 after.

I'd probably go with keeping your Mum and/or Mrs sweet mate. ;)

Finances. However, something happened today that may allow me to keep it a while longer and still be able to convert MIB to m52 power.

stick with m20 its the engine thats supposed to be in an e21. you'll pay a small fortune for rpm to do m52 on it.
keep the race car. do a few race meetings you'll love it and you'll be looking to sell mib to keep up the race meetings.
