engine management

Hi guys needing some advice and direction on engine management here im starting to build my 2.7 engine for my e21 and got two complete engines one from a 325i and the other from a 525e. they are both pretty much complete apart from the ecu and maf sensor (apparently) thinking my best option was a motronic 173 ecu i bought one with a 2.7 alpina replica chip. i tried to plug it into my wiring harness and it wont fit it looks to be roughly the right shape but i noticed that my harness has two rows of terminals and the 173 ecu has three so i'm back to the drawing board.
where do i go from here?
