BBS Mahle Centre Caps Removal?

Post by arshad76 »

I have the metal ones and want to replace them with some plastic ones. Having some trouble getting them off. The plastic ones have little tabs either side that look like they just need pushing in with a screwdriver.

The metal ones seem a little more difficult to take off. Does anyone have any tips or is it a matter of banging them out with a mallet?

Thanks,

I think you can just push them out. Try it really carefull first before hitting :hammer

Would you be interested in selling the metal centre caps? I'm looking for a set for my Mahles (60mm diameter)

Hi Danny,

I tried that and they're not coming out. I thought somebody might know a good technique without damaging them. I'm going to hold on to the metal centre caps for now, but I might let them go at some stage. They're not perfect anyway, one of them has a couple of dents, probably through someone hammering them out. Why I'm looking for a less rough method for now!

If you don't want to damage them take the wheels off and get some sort of weapon behind it (probably something a bit wide so that it doesn't dent the metal) and just hit it through from behind.

I think that might be the best thing. like you say wide so that it doens't damage it. i'll take it to an alloy wheel place and see what they have. cheers

I recall that the Metal covers do not fit the BBS rims.
