BMW classic parts service UK

Don't think anyone has posted this before.

BMW classic has been running as a German website for a while, used to be called Mobile tradition I think. Anyway someone decided that us UK types needed a classic friendly dealer. I had asked my local guy to get some bits and he said the system showed some in stock at BMW Park lane. I then read the BMW car club magazine from December which had an article about the service.

If you google BMW classic park lane you get this page...

http://www.bmwparklane.com/parts/own.html?id=8981

Which has an email link in it. The guy who replied to me is called Lee Davis. I emailed late on Friday night and had a reply with prices and availability (end of week from germany) this morning. No Postage charge on this order and generally seems a good service run by someone who knows what they are doing. Payment was easy - they have a paypal account, which is a lot easier than ringing up to give card details etc like with most dealers.

I'll update this when the bits arrive, but so far it looks like an excellent customer oriented service - as long as the customer wants parts for an old BMW!

Read about it somewhere, but prolly that was in the Dec or Jan issue of Total BMW.

I know Lee as the Park Lane / Nine Elms dealership is the one I usually use. He's a sound guy and will go out of his way to try and track parts down in Germany if there are no UK stocks.

They are also re-commissioning a very low mileage 316 in partnership with Practical Classics magazine. I think the first installment is due to be in the next issue? I'm not 100% on that though. Practical Classics used to run a 316 e21 as a staff car but they sold it as it was ''too reliable'' and gave them nothing to write about.
