Rear wheel making knocking noise

Hi all,

I have put some 14" bottle necks on the E21 and there is a knocking noise coming from the passenger side, rear tyre.

I have managed to order some spacers for the fronts as that will prevent them from rubbing.

Car is currently being MOT'd, hopefully the mechanic will be able to shed some light into this issue with the rear tyre. My first thought was to get spacers for the rear but that doesn't make sense as it's just the one tyre.

Any ideas? I am guessing something needs replacing?

Once the car has been jacked up in the garage, I'll speak to the mechanic and rotate the wheel to see if this is still making the noise.

As vargue as I am being in my description, was hoping someone could help.

Cheers
Nick - waiting in aniticipation now, welding should be done by end of play Sunday

:thumbsup

Did you use a wheelbolt which is too long. This could rub the brakeshoes inside. or a balanceweight which rubs the shockabsorber if you have the wrong ET-value.

or an outside wheel weight catching the handbrake cable?

I'll have a look and see if any of the above are problems.

Cheers

Check wheel bearings and swap another wheel onto the knocking corner and see if it persists?

If it's a constant click click click that varies with road speed it's too long wheelbolts hitting the handbrake bits inside.
