christoph wrote:the sound of the open airfilters is great.
although the engine seams to be running smoother with the original filterhousing.
my problem is that with the original filter housing the strut brace does not fit any more..
i will have so solve this problem somehow since the k&n are not allowed to be mounted here in Switzerland..

That is strange, my strut brace fits

But I got something like 2 or 3 mm free space between the original filter and the strut - aint got any problems with driving. I will add later on a picture off mine if you want to?

christoph wrote:Yes please Ronaldo.
I might have to put some washers underneath..
well it actually just fits but because it touches the filterhousing it makes noise because of the vibrations.
and i always thought the 320/6 is running without vibrations ':D'

Christoph,
What a beauty! The combo of this car and the 5 series is perfection.
Love the 70's color.

jesus, that is gorgeous!
I like the yellow headlights!
Tell me if you're selling them
Where did you get the K&N filter?
I've been looking at their webpage but couldn't find for the 320/6.

Christoph, which springs have you got on your E21?? You say you've got a Bilstein kit, but is this a complete kit including springs and if so, how the hell did you manage to get hold of that?? - they have been nla for ages... I really like the look - it's low enough to look purposeful, but it's not racecar low... Perfect!!

Hi guys, like the car also, i think i know the problem of why on one car the strut brace fits and on the other it doesnt..
seemingly one of the cars carburettor is a pierburg carb and the other is a solex carb, either one of them will have the same filter case BUT also the carb is sligtly larger which this case a strut brace cannot be fitted there were two types of carbs used.. if i had it my way if it was a pierburg then i would have taken it out as they go wrong unless you have been lucky to have a good one, a nice set of webber carburettors with a mangoletsi twin carb manifold and 4 trumpet pipe filters... if its a solex then your safe...
thats why there is a strut brace issue..
Why cant you use a K&N filter in your car in swiss land?

Very nice car! The interiror looks just like new, even the plastic still shines.
