E12 M535i LSD Internals in An E21 Casing

Spoke to someone today who seems to believe they have cracked this solution - I was put in touch with these people by a very reputable BMW Racing Team. If this is indeed true and i have no reason to believe otherwise, its certainly one hell of a conversion. I have been told that it is not suitable for Track use cars using the 2.7 conversion because the 4 bolt e21 casing can not take the vast amount of Torque delivered from the 2.7 engine on the track, however it is perfectly fine for road use.
I am dropping off my diffs next week and will let you know the outcome.

hi mobster long time no speak..
when you say this conversion is fine for road use but not the track? what would happen if you decided to drop the clucth in first at around 5k.. would it not break the casing? or give it a good thrashing..?

I sell reinforced e21 lsd-differentials since they originally cannot withstand more than 150hp. They can be used on the track also and come with 5 years warranty.

only reason is that when i had mine converted there was no known way to get round the problem of the torque ,unless it envolved huge sums of cash hence the e12 lsd diff conversion not that cheap either, but aparently good for 600+bhp.. although its the torque that kills diffs.. who knows this guy may have "cracked" it

They're around 1250 euro with 40% lock in most ratio's. For this price you'll get a complete rebuild differential with polished internals, all new bearings, wheel and pineon checked with magnaflux, etc. On top of that the core will be reinforced with billet steel and the other hardware is all military grade. It comes with 5 years warranty, also with use on the track. It's perfecly suitable for by example a s14 conversion.
(no own diff needed, u'll get it complete for this price)

Neil @ Automac is going to be offering converted e21 diffs. Likely cost is about £650 iirc?

They had an E21 they were stripping to for race season.
