Suspension Top Mounts front and rear

Well i've just had a phone call to say my Coilovers should be back with me late next week, can't wait...

When i fit them it might well be a good idea to top new top mounts on. but money is tight and adjustable mounts are probably more than i can afford TBH. plus i haven't got a clue how to set them up...

so i've been looking a fixed top mounts and i've seen some from Compbrake, does anyone know anything about these are they any good? the car will mainly be used on the road, not daily only occasionally (if that's important or not..).

Here's a link to the ones i'm looking at - http://www.compbrake.co.uk/Parts-by-Car ... od_15.html

any help or direction will be appreciated. Thanks

The compbrake ones are not for you, no point in getting the none adjustable type as there is no benifit, and you have to redrill the shock towers for the adjustable ones.

Stick with standard for now.

Thanks Jason, Bummer though standard ones from BMW are 130 for front alone..

As a money saving option they might be a worthwhile addition though I guess?

Which?

And if there's three perfectly good holes there already i don't really want to drill three more...

You have to drill the shock towers for the non-adjustable compbrake ones as well. Or you could re-drill and tap top the mounts to match the standard holes. I've got these on mine, combined with bilstein sport dampers, and you get a lot of shocks transmitted from the road, I'd go for standard replacements given the choice.

Standard top-mounts are 37.50 Euros at walloth und nesch at the minute.

Thanks for the replies, think your right , Standard is the way, and yeah i did just notice the W&N did them at quite a reasonable price.

Looks like an order to them then, may well do ARB bushes etc at the same time.

Any other bits i should think about swapping/buying as i'm bolting in new coilovers???

Steering rack bushes. In fact, renew all the rubber bits you can.

I've already got new TCA's, Track Rod ends(fitted last year i think) Murran is sending me some steering rack bushes, i think that only leaves ARB Bushes on the front..

I suppose there's a long list for the back end too is there, are the top mounts at the back that important?

Not sure i fancy taking the trailing arms out just yet, especially if i'm suppose to be taking it the brands on the Wednesday night and then again on bank holiday Monday... but i suppose those bushes and a few others should really be changed too??
