Engine stops sometimes, why and what to do about it?

Hello.
I´m having some troubles with my car, 323i -81. It starts rough when cold starting and after a minute or so it fine (guess the cold start valve isnt working...?). When i stop the car, eg refueling, it start fine but it dies after a minute or so. It does this for 2-4 times and then it runs fine. It doesnt matter if its idling or if I rev it to 2500, its just dies.
Any ideas of what could be faulty?
II´m going to change all vacuum hoses but it doesn´t look at all like eg realoem under my hood.
I seem to not have most of the hoses and other stuff...?!
any ideas?
