E30 325 advice

Off to look at a 325i sport (190 bhp standard this bloke is saying???) with a friend who's thinking about flogging his golf and getting a BM. Its apparently been dry stored for 14 years and recently pulled out of retirement for a fresh mot to go back on the road. Its got 90k on the clock and im told the bodywork is mint.
So....How much (roughly) would the car be worth if it really is in excellent condition ? He's basically said he has an idea in his head of how much he wants for it but we dont quite know what that is.
Also what should we be looking out for mechanical wise...common faults etc?? Any advice on this would be appreciated. TA

Well for a start you need it to be a sport, any car can have sport on the log book. The way to tell is by the VIN, but all sports are two door with the mtec body kit and a black heading (the you get 4 door sports for sale on ebay).

The engine was the same as the 325i and had 170bhp standard so the guy is already talking bollox. A mint sport is 3.5k plus

The 190bhp is nonsense indeed, they're all 170bhp. A 325i m-tech1 or m-tech2 in mint condition will cost at least 4 or 5k. The standard equipment mentioned above is not included with a m-tech set. A m-tech set just means the spoiler package and some details in the interior like the steering weel and gear knob. Also the suspension is m-tech, but all 6cils have m-tech suspension.

I've one in mint condition myself. ;)

The list above is for a UK spec 325i sport and they did come with all that standard equipment, hence the sport reference for the UK market, the m-tec kit was jsut part of the sport package.
