Rear Poly Anti-Roll Bar Bushes advice

Hello chaps,

I've had a weird squeaking/clanking noise from the rear left and had it checked out by my local mechanic today. He said it looks like the rear anti-roll bar bushes/droplinks?!.

Is it a good time to upgrade to poly bushes? If so do they differ in quality much? I've heard Powerflex recommended on here, except they don't seem to have a section for E21's. Are E30 the same fit?

Also, while I've got my mechanic down there, are there any other bushes I might as well change at the same time to poly or is it more of an involved job? Help as always appreciated, I could do with ordering these tomorrow and having them fitted ASAP :thumbsup

superflex is the company you want to talk to.

You have to measure the rear anti roll bar - i think there are a couple of sizes? anyway id replace the anti roll bar bushes first - but you may find it could be the bush at the bottom of the shock / the shock itself or even a top mount.

Id not order anything until you know for sure whats causing your problem - but you should replace all your bushes - if you get the complete kit i think it only ends up costing like 120 quid.

Cheers Nas,

Well he said get the antiroll bar bushes changed regardless, because there is play and it well be an MOT failure as it stands. If I can get some rear subframe mounts I'll get him to change them too, apparently they really transform stock handling response?

I'll look into that kit you mentioned from Superflex.
