will this driveshaft fit?

Hi,
I have an '81 318i auto that im putting an m20 and getrag 245 into.
I have a getrag 245 and driveshaft from an '81 320/6 (the 245 was a factory option). I also have a rear subframe and diff from an early 78 323i.
My question is will the gearbox, driveshaft and diff fit fine on my car? The flanges all line up correctly (three bolt on trans output and driveshaft) so it should work but there are different part numbers listed on realoem for pre 1980 driveshafts and post 80 driveshafts. Is there a difference in length?
By the way whats the verdict with Walloth and Nesch? Some people seem to think they're great others reckon they're crap. Im not wanting to order body panels just mechanical components and some interior trim.
