Now this is where I'm curious for all those different thoughts of you guys! What car is on top of your wishlist and why? A top 3 would be fine as well, but pls explain!
Let me kick off. There are so many BMW's I just love. Roadsters from 507 through Z1 to Z8. Coupés like the Z4M, a Bertone 3200CS, a Glas 1600GT or 'just' a 3.0CSi or a stock 635. Saloons like 1800TISA, E23 or E28. And when I find my Euro Millions lottery ticket again I will go out and buy them all, plus a hundred more. And it doesn't have to be limited to BMW's. A 930 turbo, 964CS, F355, Stratos, 250SWB, DB5, DB6, McLaren F1, all so wonderful.
But I keep asking myself the same questions: what are you going to do with one of these cars? when are you going to use it? Will you drive your SWB on a rainy Alps pass and then park it for the night in the streets of some illustruous Italian town? What are they adding? Bullsh*t questions of course as there's no reasoning, it's a choice made by the heart.
Then let's remain realistic, what car would you absolutely love, would still be within reach, and would add something to the car or cars you already own? Here's my top 3!
1. Alpina B7 turbo E28
This will not come as a surprise to people who know me well. I'm into sleepers and with the stripes removed it definitely isn't a car that screams for attention even though the true fanatic recognizes a fat E28 right away. A luxurious limousine with all the goodies you need, and still power aplenty and almost E30-like agility to throw her around. For taking one for a comfy ride and then turn into a asphalt munching monster in an instant. That combined with classic sharknose looks, handling that doesn't remind you too much of the stone age, mmmm yeah I love it! Good alternative would be the E28 M5. Just as rare, just as expensive.

2. Porsche '930' 911 turbo
Why this one in the list? A true classic, but not too old so I could still drive her like I stole her. Killer reputation, wonderful looks. Performance that won't be that far off my daily but the turbo kicking you in the back, the unique roar. And still you will be able to park it nearly anywhere. Will it ever be mine? Lottery prize needed, for buying a minter, and I'm really afraid I need lottery money to keep it in perfect nick as well. Still, one day... I might get its little Carrera brother

3. BMW Z3 M Roadster
Well, I started off by calling the 3rd position 'a roadster'. With the E21 Baur, sure you can drive open but it's not like a 100% convertible, so yeah that would be a good addition. But a rare example please, and a fast one. Z8? Too much money. Porsche? Yeah, could be a youngtimer 911 convertible. I like the facelifted Z4 but only as a better-than-average modern day convertible. Love the Z3's looks and if it weren't for that plastic rear window I might already have one as my daily driver.
