I've been considering this upgrade for a while and wanted to know your experiences' with them.

In particular, how would these work with a right hand drive model?
Also, do they even change that much at all?
Thanks

No one at all?
Any opinions at least?

You might need to worry about the steering. The ones for the m10 in my 520i clashed with steering so went custom made.
What engine mods have you got? Normally, 4-1 is better for top end power and 4-2-1 for wider range and less modified.
They sure look nice though!

hmm... yes well its actually got an e30 m10 in it which made the manifold collector move back slightly so it was already hitting the steering link, but i clamped the pipe in just to get the steering fine, so it certainly can't be doing anything good. I'm guessing these would need bending then to get them just so....
Sorry for my ignorance but what do you mean by 4-1 etc???
Thanks

Sorry, I meant "4 into 1" as in the 4 primary header pipes all join into 1 pipe at the same point. "4-2-1" means that the headers combine into 2 pipes first and then later into 1. I've got tuned length 4-1 on mine. When I first had them installed, the engine was almost standard. Just a straight through exhaust and pod filter. It picked up a bit of power above about 4000 rpm, but it hurt the low end torque. Once I installed quad throttle bodies, EFI, and a 304 cam, it now makes even more power up high, but there is no power down low. According to some manufacturers, you could expect around 3-5% in power gain from well set up extractors.
These photos are from the e12 and it has a steering box rather than a rack, but it shows how tight it is with the engine leaned over.
The other thing I'd suggest is getting them ceramic coated or, if you're like me and not made of money, wrap them in exhaust wrap to keep the heat in (helps flow) and keeps under hood temps down.

Ahh i see thanks
The engine is fairly well all factory and i'd like to keep it as a daily runner, since torque is the thing that actually makes you move i wouldn't really want to make that worse.... was it a very noticeable change for you??
Thanks

Not very noticeable. The noise is a bit nicer.

I don't know anything about these, but it would seem to say they are made for rhd cars.

I have those 'Hurricane' headers (or some that look identical) and 2" exhaust. Got them cheap from a mate who was wrecking his old e21. I didn't dyno it before and after, so I don't actually know if it really made any more power, but the exhaust place suggested I'd get about an 8-12hp increase on my stock engine (though that's probably at the top of the rev range). I didn't notice any loss of torque. I reckon it felt like it was slightly quicker, but maybe the noise fooled me. It does make it sound great though - really encourages you to rev it out.
