Question for all E21 owners

Hello everybody:

I own an E30, but it came with an M10 engine and a pierburg carburator, I wanted to ask you (if you have one of those), to take a picture of your setup and post it, because my car was serviced by the previous owner's mechanic and he removed all the hoses (even the vacuum advance), so you can imagine how the car runs, it idles like a diesel and accelerates even less.
As I can see, the main difference is the electric (or electronic) plug beside the carburator which runs the economy meter.

I also have a 2 barrel solex, which seems a lot simpler, but has 2 electric sensors, would you advise replacing the pierburg with this solex ?

I am sorry to barge in here, but I have been to E30 forums, but therfe are very few M10 carburated engines there.

thanks in advance

Ivo

They're both pretty useless tbh. If I were you, I would fit a Weber instead. Better running, better performance and, so long as you don't boot it everywhere, better mileage.

OK, thanks for the advice, BTW, I might as well buy it locally, Since I'm in Chile, shipping costs would be psychotic.
I'll keep you updtaed on what happens.

It's a pierburg which has two float bowls, one at each side of the carb, I couldn't find an image of it on the web, and it has an electric plug behind (towards the firewall), this plug receives one vacuum hose (if disconnected the car will not run).

I may be able to upload a pic tomorrow. (I have to take a pic of the actual carb).
