Bilstein Part Numbers

Hi guys I wanted to see if you can help me out finding which Bilsteins will fit my 320/6 1981.

Lots of suppliers in the US will try to sell you 320i stuff but looks like they won't fit according to BMW's ETK.

If anyone of you can give me the Bilstein part numbers for the correct ones for a 320/6 I'd be grateful!

Also I've no idea if I have sport suspension from factory or not my guess would be no.

thanks!

I think the official site of Bilstein can help you.

Thanks but for some reason the E21 doesn't appear at all....

It's a real pain and I also tried Boge but Boge says 320i and 320/6 are the same which contradicts what BMW says im so confused!

And I work at this feeling a bit ashamed of myself right now hahha.

The link is from the E21.

When you go to the online catalogue choose BMW. Then scroll towards the bottomlines and the E21 and even the BMW 02-series are there.

AFAIK the P30-0121 B6 fronts fit all E21's except the 323i but you need a different nut on top than with any other brand of shocks. Available from B. as well.

Rears are all the same.

So this should all fit:

If anyone thinks differently speak up now or forever hold your peace

That's strange. I had it in english when i copied the link. I know you are not a german. Most important is that you know which Bilstein you need now.

Anyway, the official website lists the following part nos for the 320/6 (that can also be found on the other websites posted above):

B6 gas
Front 34-001219 aka P30-0121
Rear 24-006125 aka B46-0612

B6 gas with sports suspension
Front 34-002230 aka P36-0223
Rear 24-006125 aka B46-0612 (same as regular B6 gas)

The rear shocks are both the regular dampers that are 2-way heigth adjustable, the earlier sports units with 4 or 5-way heigth adjustment are NLA

There's also the regular and cheaper B4 gas dampers but if you're into some spirited driving I can recommend B6's 8)

320/6 with sport suspension (M-technic) and for example 315 tropical-version have same front struts as 323i. So,not all.

How can you identify the sports suspension?

You are both correct!!!! There are actually 2 sports bils for the E21. One for 315 to 320/6 and one for the 320/6 & 323 which uses the "323" stut housing. I know because i have already gone through this route. My 320/6 is currently on the M-Tech suspension ment for the 323. I also have the complete set of the Bils sport lowering kit for the 315-320/6. Was intending to fit that to another E21 but that fell through. So if anyone is interested in a pair of "new old" front bils sports dampers let me know. I will be keen to let it go. You have to factor in the postage from singapore to where you are though.

Cheers
