Hi guys, I need to replace the brake pipes at the rear for the car, and the hoses. They are all seized so I can't get them apart. I need to fit a new brake cylinder.
I have a cheapo brake flairing tool so want to buy a roll of pipe and the unions. What size is the pipe and unions? And can anyone recommend an online place I can order them from? Also should I got for braided hoses or just rubber?
Thanks guys. Max

I've just replaced mine throughout the car, copper pipe size is 3/16" and the fittings are m10 thread. Personally, I bought some online but didn't have enough, so popped to my local motor factor (ces) and it worked out cheaper to by them of the shelf!! Your "cheapie" flaring kit should be fine, just make sure you have the little collet that goes in to the end of the copper to create a double flare. You will probably have to by the flexi pipes too, again, I got these from the local motor factor next day for about £6.

i hate the cheapo brake pipe flaring kits theyre all rubbish. we have one very similar to this at work.

you can knock brake pipes out in seconds. and make perfect flares every time!
if you can afford one then id say buy one and repipe the whole car.
if your not going to use it again and you need the money then if you stick it back on ebay i bet youd get 75% of your money back.

yep 3/16th pipe cunifer pipe is better than copper, but its stiffer to bend. unions are m10x1.0 .

Thanks for the reply guys. I'll pop to my local friendly motor factors and see if they can sort me out some pipe and unions.
