not me im affraid but if you need any bit im about to scrap a load of suspension stuff if you need anything basically everything bar engine and diff is on one side with no real interest and it seems a shame to scrap it all.

Front alloys already filthy from what I assume is brake dust? Is that cheap pads or just a fact of life?

*Replaced the M10 with an unmolested 78k motor from Mark's new MIB.
*Installed rebuilt 5-spd and custom shortened/balanced prop.
*New clutch slave and master.
*New dizzy cap and rotor arm.
*New water pump.
*Painted rocker cover.
*Installed rebuilt weber 32/34 DMTL.
*Ramair filter.

Spent an hour tidying up the engine bay. Glad to get rid of that horrible pancake filter which really restricts access. Could do with a steam clean now.

Thanks! Yes, have been driving it for about a week or two now. Much smoother/quieter ride compared to the old twin 40's. Also getting better MPG. The Weber needs tuning properly still, think it's running a little rich - me and Nas tuned it in the dark in sub zero temps. A concern with the old engine was that it took 15 seconds or so from cold to build oil pressure, presumably due to worn bottom end (think it had been abused quite a bit, including by myself!), I think this one will be more reliable as a daily driver.

Cold air feed isn't a bad idea, I guess the intake sits pretty high now where all the warm air gathers.. Anyone got any cool examples?

Since I keep popping head gaskets, I thought it was about time I got a decent engine. This has been rebuilt by Lockstitch in Rochdale, UK...



New pistons, bearings, gaskets, valves - head skimmed and reconditioned. Couple of little jobs to do before fitting - fit new timing chain tensioner, clean bay and repaint, paint exhaust mani, fit Weber etc.

Buy a new radiator mate, new engine and your selection of old rads makes me worry. Maybe get Nas's guy to make you a shiny one!

I was saying to reck the other day that an original one with a copper core would probably do it just fine. The alloy ones I get are a bit too heavy duty and expensive.

I just don't want a nice rebuilt engine connected to one of his manky/leaky old rads. He's got form with engine swaps and radiators!!!

Haha he does indeed. Seriously I have lost count how many times I've helped change can engine. We are getting good at it now though. Takes one day

There are some cheap alloy ones available for m10's. I ran one in my M3 for 4 months and it was as good as gold.
