As usual I have booked a garage to keep stuff dry in. Sadly I will probably be driving my shiny new 2000 miles 2 month old Ford Focus 1.6Tdci - the economical boring one with stop start etc - rather than a fire breathing track monster, but I'll see if I can embarrass some BMW drivers.

I could possibly come in my Baur, but it handles a bit funny, needs some new top mounts to sort out a clunk in the suspension, and is still down at the body shop waiting for the paint to be finished off, so I suspect Focus it is!

We'll have fun whatever.

Yea I was just wondering what the score was. Never took my car to the limit yet and wouldn't mind seeing how it feels on a track.

Be an interesting comparison prior to upgrade to slugs engine - MArk is Cool with me using his engine in my car if I want to so MAY be coming in a proper toy after all.

There are now only two weeks to our season opening Track Day at Oulton Park (full circuit) on 22 February.

Interest has been high and we have just 9 places left which we'd love to sell to Club members. The price for this full 'open pit lane' day is £145.

The Club has booked the track and the event is being run by us so you can be assured of a safe, adrenalin and fun filled day.

As always the event will run on an open pit lane basis to maximise your time on track and entry is capped to just 60 cars (to cover our costs but afford you maximum track time).

As Mark is OK with me continuing to use the engine in the slug for the time being I am working on a plan to use it for Oulton. I need to move the drivers seat forwards a bit as per instructions from Hamish, so I've ordered some sliders to put it on, meaning other people may be able to drive it (most people can't reach the pedals from where the seat is now, I sit in it funny!). I also had a look at the puddle of brake fluid in the footwell, traced it to the rear circuit master cylinder. I guess that's why the brakes went mushy at Croft, it's squirting out of the bore when I press the pedal. Have ordered a new one.

Assuming I get those bits done - even getting in to look at the leak was interesting with my funny neck/numb arm problem, slug will be coming for the day. I am also planning to drill a hole in my fuel tank so I can fit the E21 sender and thereby know when I am running low on fuel, which will be even more useful once the M52 goes in!

This would have been a good excuse to meet up but sadly i'll be at work wishing i was screaming around a race track. Would they even allow drifting on the main track...i think NOT! haha
