I am getting a M52 2.8L Engine from a E36, would this fit straight into an E21 and if so is there anthing else i would need, i've also been told to get a Z3 gearbox 5 speed as my car's an automatic, only got a week or so before i need to get everything together, otherwise could loose the car completly.

No its not a straight fit. You need stuff like a rad anf an e34 sump which has to be modified for clearence.

You need to get a 6 cylinder model with a 5 speed gearbox. As the speedo in these are cable driven. And the z3 box doesnt have that facility.
