Propshaft Issue

Recently I've had quite bad vibrations at 20mph, only between 15-25mph, happens in all gears but only between those speeds. I had recently put some spare wheels on the rear until I bought some new tyres so assumed it must've been balancing issues.

However, today it's been really bad and it sounded pretty bad too I was parking up and noticed a sheared bolt was on the drive. I jacked up the rear couldn't see any issues there but at the front of the propshaft are some missing bolts:

I don't know the name for this part, but is it just a case of buying new bolts and fitting them - what dimensions will I need? Will there be any underlying damage?

Thanks for any help

First check the spares wheels you have put.
They have the 4 lug and tight well? correct pressure on it?
Maybe the wheels need balanced again, or at first they have got balancing weights and they came off when you where driving.

I don“t think there is a problem at the shaft.

Regards,

Propshaft prolly is still ok but clearly you are missing two bolts at the flex disc so even though the flex disc looks ok from this side, give it a thorough check all round, especially at the only point it was connected lately. If you see no damage it might just be a case of replacing the bolts. I'd replace all and new locknuts too. Looks like old ones were reused or not tightened correctly and they start running loose (same thing happens with driveshafts on diff side). With damage on the rubber disc you better replace that one as well, it has been carrying all the load at only one point for some time!. There is a small chance the propshaft's center bearing has damage too but I would not replace it right away unless there's visible damage on the rubber parts.

Cheers guys, the third bolt's missing as well so that must explain the loud banging today!

Do you know what size the bolts are? Thanks

I'd get a new set from the dealer, can't be that much $$$$

New ones for the dealer are about a pound each, give them your VIN and they will arrive the next day all being well. Not worth messing about buying them elsewhere for this.
