BMW. By Schlegelmilch, Lehbrink & Von Osterroth
Kilos of paper describing BMW's history with a vast collection of beautiful photos. Not the cheapest book but well worth it and previous versions can be picked up for peanuts.


Inside the BMW Factories. By Graham Robson
A wonderful inside look throughout the ages!


BMW Profile. Touring-Car Racing and Sports Cars (Touren- und Sportwagen) by Stefan Knittel
Describing BMW's Motorsport history with a lot of info and pictures, also lots on our beloved E21's!


General

Jeremy Clarkson's books, especiall the ones on cars of course. Love his writing and extreme descriptions, for example the turning circle of a Bentley being the size of Canada lol

Into the red by Nick Mason
A must for the true petrolhead with the finest from racing and sportscar history. Including a cd with great sounds including the BMW V16.

I have Into the red- simply a must have for any petrolhead!

On the BMW front I would recommned Jeremy Walton's book on 3 Series and James Taylor's book on "BMW Alpina"

I am a big fan of Bob Lutz- and in his revised version of his earlier book "Guts" he describes the worst example of cronyism and overt bribery whilst he was with BMW
and he has been with almost everyone else in his long career!
His new book "Car Guys vs Bean counters" is excellent

In a similar vein falls Lee Iacocca in "Iacocca" the guy who saved Chrysler (twice)

As a very left field topic I would highly recommend John Delorean's book "On a Clear day you can see General Motors"

As style totems I would recomend Stephen Bayley's book "Cars"- I tried to get him to consider a Camaro in lieu of the inevitable Mustang- and despite a series of emails lost the battle! There are plenty of BMWs in his book!
