Well of to the Pod this weekend for some fun, beer, food and a good laugh.
Should be taking the S54 down the strip at some point, hopefully my mates will take some vids/pics of it running.

Re: Santa Pod this weekend 27th-29th July
Great weekend, the weather held off till sunday lunchtime
Did a few runs up the strip on friday whilst it was still quiet.
Was very difficult getting traction off the line with the sharp throttle response, paddel clutch, no weight in the back of the car, stiff springs etc.
Even so my first run was a 13.5 s @ 108mph.
After a few more runs got the launch sorted a bit and acheived my best time of 12.7 s @ 112mph.
On my final run I lit up the tyres on the line so didn't get a very good 60ft time but still did a 13.5 s @ 115mph.
So with more runs and practice I think under 12.5 is a possibility with this car. Pretty pleased with that especially as its defo faster than my dads D-Type now
My friend did take a video of the quickest run, so when he's uploaded it I post it up here.
Couple of pics can be found on this site:

Cheers

Nice to see, as far as possible... looking at stamps with text on them as well. Any better pics? Otherwise we'll wait for the video!

Wow thats a quick car!
Herman only managed a 14.2 at 102 mph on our admittedly less than perfectly surfaced jurby track on IOM!
1/4 mile times and speeds are a vg guage of a car imo
By comparison butch did a 12.7 at 127 mph year before (no traction until halfway down)!
Same probs circuit racers not so good at launch since we all have too stiff shocks
