Available sections:
4 cylinder: for 315-316-318-318i-320/4-320i
6 cylinder: for 320/6 and 323i
Modified: for cars converted by tuners like Alpina and Hartge as well as custom M50, S50 conversions, etc
Convertible: for conversions like Baur, Peters, etc

It may be good to use the following format for the topic title: model - year - username - country for example 323i 1980 Jeroen Netherlands

My car started off as a 316 now has modified straight 6. Which section do I need to put my car?

Good idea Jeroen / Topcat,

Could I suggest we change the modified section to something like - Original Tuners (Alpina, Harge, TWR etc)
and then have a new section for all the 'Modified' cars - Like nas80's and mine

mine is also swapped 323i - ex315

Thanks for thinking along guys! I'd say we stick to what the car is, now.

So if you converted it from 316 to 323i, it's a 6 cilinder now, right?

Alpina came from the BMW factory as a 323i, but better put that under Modified same story for all convertibles that all came from the factory as examples with a fixed roof...

The few cars that were modified at a later stage don't justify a separate category imho, a title like S54 or V8 powered 323i under Modified will be clear enough, or? Why: I'm afraid we're creating a category that won't be that active and these ones end up not being looked at, at all. Just would like to prevent that. And how many cars of the 700 reported over the past 10 years do we expect to end up under modified, it won't be such a giant group I guess.

Mine is straight 6 now, but i already have 1.6 for swap, so in a week or two it will be in a wrong category...
