As above really. I know a few of you have had work done - just wondering who knows their way around an E21 best and does a proper job?
I've got some tiny (and I mean tiny - like .5cm) patches of corrosion on the boot lip and rear side window lip I want fixing before they get any worse. Not really fussed about the paint finish as it's had a mediocre respray at some point anyway. I just want a solid shell with an eye on a respray next year, funds permitting. I'll also want them to install new front and rear window seals at the same time (already have these), and fix anything they find under there.

Hi Jason,
I'd say it all depends on how much you want to pay. I got lucky with a place in Eccles last time round, but I've heard hit and miss stories since. Can find the number for you if you're interested though.
Globe Motors off Stockport Road are very good, but then you pay the price too.

if your not bothered about the paint finish why not do it yourself? at least that way you know its been done properly and not just bogged over and painted. post some pics of what you want doing.

I agree, sort the bits yourself, I suspect problemchild can help with getting the paint right on top!
If it needs the plasma cutter and welding I am up for it!

Arshad - Not a bomb, but I'd rather it were cut out and new metal welded in rather than done with filler.
Thanks guys. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow. I'd love to have a go myself but lack the facilities/equipment. I've got an extension cable but I don't think it's long enough to reach from the seventh floor to the car park.

That's a very kind offer Jim - take a look at the pictures tomorrow and let me know if you think it's feasible!

You want to see Autofusion-uk based in Leigh for the best welders i'n the north west. They have done a lot of work on my E21 and to such a high standard you wouldn't know it was ever rusty.
If you call Gray and you pop down to see him he'll be able to show you pics of what was required.
