Reading through the history file on my car which is as full as you will ever find and I noticed a few interesting things.
On the first service the owner had to get the boot flatted and polished, a section of the bumper replaced due to rust and an odd number plate bolt replaced, guess build quality wasnt as good back in 79 :o
He also had to have his rechargable torch replaced??? was that an option?

Also found out he had the car Ziebarted shortly after it was bought which probably explains the overall condition underneath.
Going to read some more and find out any other interesting facts.

Yeah nice, love that kinda stuff as well. Not that it really matters anymore, but the maintenance done in the first years always makes an interesting read.

The rechargeable torch was an option on 3 series, always I believe, but all cars have the socket fitted as standard. But rumour has it they are NLA now? All my cars have one, just a nice thing to have. And guess what, I've used it a few times already, funnily enough that was always to help owners of French cars out
