Eddie's E21 316

I'm new to the forum so first off, this is a big hello to everyone on here.
I'm from South Manchester, and this weekend I purchased this lovely BMW E21 316 from Alan (not sure of his username, but I'm pretty sure he is on here)
First, off I'm loving it, the way it drives, the comfort, the admiring looks from so many people, everything about it makes me smile
Anyway, I popped down to my dads house in Sandbach and grabbed a few photos while I was there.
Plans for the car vary hugely, but for the time being, I will be getting the bodywork straight. It's pretty good already, so hopefully it won't be too extensive a repair. I'm a very keen detailer, so the quicker I can have fresh paint to work with, the better
There are a few little bits and bobs around the car that need sorting too, but as above really, on the whole, it seems reasonably straight.
Look forward to meeting a few people whenever there is an event on next

Welcome here,
That's a fine piece and very original looking car. I surely like the original looks of an E21 so please keep here like this.
Can you place some more pictures please.

I'll get some more photos in due course, it needs a good 2 day detail, as it has a lot of swirls and RDS in the paint.
Rest assured, it'll look a world apart after I've had a good go over it some point this week.

Congrats on a fine E21! It's Alan's 'ex' indeed, he's known here as
creedon.
Clearly you will have admirers with those classic looks, especially running an early example with chrome mirrors in a period paint color. I'd say the basis is pretty good, take good care of her and enjoy the mess here
Don't have any details on the UK schedule for 2013 yet but I'm sure there will be a few nice occasions to meet fellow E21 fans.
Looking forward to seeing her after even more TLC!

Thanks very much for the link mate, that's great.
I love the colour, I've done my research, but I presume I'm correct in saying it is Topazbraun Metallic?

Welcome Eddie,
I think I saw this parked up in Krispy Kremes last night, in a disabled spot?! Tut tut! Nice car all the same, will be nice to see another daily e21 driver about

Wow, small world mate!
Yeah, it was parked in a parent and child space. I know it's pretty bad, but the thought of some muppet opening their door into the car stresses me hugely
You're pretty local to me then?

Early 316 is a nice thing to have, would have bought that myself if I had cash/space/time etc! Nice it's stayed round our way.

Ha not to worry, although it's a risky philosophy that one. Saw an Audi driver take two spots once and someone had keyed a massive scratch down the side. I'm in Gatley, work through the airport sometime. Dr Jims also another local - will have to meet up sometime.

Yeah, I would love to meet up some time and probably pick your brains about the E21!
Nice to know there are few people local to me

Know your car quite well, it has my spare water pump in it after Alan ordered one in that turned out to be wrong, but only discovered once he had the car dismantled and unusable to go for another! Fortunately I'm nearby and have/had all sorts of stuff sitting around.
If you want I can lend you a child to justify use of the space in future
