Okay,
I'm having some issues with the 316 not starting, and amongst a few things I think it might be, I would like to get the carb stripped down, serviced, and set up correctly.
I've been recommended to go to 'Bogg Brothers' and 'Manchester Aircooled', both VW specialists, but also both very reputable in carb servicing, I was wondering if there is anywhere in the NW (around Manchester) that specialise in BMW's, specifically older ones and will be able to service my carb, and can be reccomended?
Many thanks,

At the BMWdealer they can provide you with a servicekit for your carb. With a little help for us here you can service it yourself

I would need to know it's been done 100% correctly.
I very much doubt I can do that, I know where my skills lie, and engine work is not one of them!

Autotech has been mentioned to me in the past as being good.
Bluebell BMW (or any car as they are now) in Altrincham have been good for me in the past. Steve the service manager knows the older cars well. He'll figure it out from the E21, but you can say Dr Jim sent you!

There's also BM-Tec in Salford, M3. I've not used them so can't vouch for their work. But I have seen quite few e30 m3s having work done there so obviously some people do trust them with their pride-and-joys!

They're a good bunch, real car enthusiasts. Have gone to them a number of times. Very professional and don't charge dealer rates

I had this guy rebuild my weber, did a good job. Specialises in old MG's but knows his way around any car. He's getting on in years but still races his MG's regularly, tough to get an appointment sometimes! £40/h labour and he prefers you to provide your own parts which is good. Located in Prestwich, North Manc. Tell him Jason sent you if you do go..
