E36 hub conversion

So I know this is something that can be done on the E30, but can it be done on the E21?

The reason I ask, is it opens up a lot more options for coilover units, and it also opens doors with regards to wheel options.

What would be needed, if it could even be done?

e12 hubs are a direct fit and are also 5 stud.

e12 hub fits on e21 strut? e_surprised

or is it better to swap whole e12 strut to e21?

But E12 hubs surely have the same issues with lack of coilover options as E21 hubs?

The e12 takes the same bearings, so the hub should fit. That won't help with coilover options though since it won't change the upright. Why not just get a set of e21 coilovers?
