Suspension turrets/towers.

I have got some coilovers on the way, and I was wondering if I will need to do any strengthening work on the suspension towers?

I know the E30 rear suspension tower can sometimes fail as a result of full coilover units being fitted.

Is this the case with the E21's?

Thanks.

Not a real issue for a roadgoing E21 but a strut brace always helps stiffen things up. Some people say it makes the stress on the front worse but it handles way better.

Can I have a strut brace with aftermarket topmounts though?

Should not be a problem I guess unless you go for adjustables perhaps.

Yeah, the fronts are adjustables.

pffff I meant adjustable top mounts. Whether the shocks are adjustable or coilovers doesn't matter

Haha, no I know what you meant!

I meant the front topmounts are adjustable!
