Whats orginal?? 2 questions regarding bodywork

As I'm doing a full overhaul on my 1978 type 1 323i, every now and then I'm coming up with some questions. This time' I'm working on de rearside of the car, getting ready to weld some new bootfloor parts. My two questions are:
1: For the rearfender mounting, there is a extra plate on the rearpanel. Does that go OVER or UNDER the bootfloor weldingstrip?? (or whats that 90* 0.4 inch strip of metal called??)
2: Are there two round shaped figures in het rearsheet, under the rearbumper mounting holes??
1: Some pics of the extra plate for bumpermounting. Does this go under or over het bootfloor?

My bootfloor was al dented en banged up, so I remodelled it. But than I came across twee round shaped dents? I'm not sure they are original, but on both sides they are on the same spot, so is that original of should I just hammer them flat?
If anyone has some reference material like photos, please post them here!
