I'm asking this question becouase I change the motor and new one comes with electronic ignation
but in car was old installation, so my mehanic took old ignition. I have all things for el. Ign. Is there some directions how to change ignation?

Its not a hard job but in order to be able to use the ignitions found on 1981 + cars (electronic) you will need to have your cylinder head fitted with a camshaft from this year +
the camshaft differs from the non electronic ignition one's in the gear linkage to the rotor. The rotor turns the other way on electronic ignitions.

If the new engine came with electronic ignition, it must either be a younger engine or an aftermarket conversion.

I changed my old M10 over using BMW parts, but it meant pulling two distributors apart and making a hybrid. There must be an easier way.

I can buy distributor from 315 and put him on 316 82' (1.8 ) , then what while happens with driving, is there will be some difference ? Because every model have different distributor.
